The electrical and electronics industry is regarded as an upstream industry for aeronautics, automotive, rail and renewable energy sectors, as well as for defense and security sectors, which makes of it a strategic industrial sector.

This sector has experienced sustained development in recent years with promising opportunities, namely the implementation of major renewable energy projects, the development of high added value products in mainstream and specialized integrated electronics industries, and the emergence of well integrated subcontractors.

New high added value sectors are emerging in Morocco thanks to the role of the electrical and electronics sector at the heart of the national strategic sectors, namely energy efficiency, electricity, private and public safety, and renewable energy.

Morocco aspires to become a platform for production and export to Europe and other continents. To achieve this goal, Morocco exported around 5 Billion Dollars (~48 Billion DH) in 2018 as the result of exporting electronic conductors, switchboards, cabinets and combinations of similar products, and other devices for servicing, connecting, and wiring electrical circuits.
