Being a real cornerstone in the centre of strategic economic sectors to mention only tourism, construction and infrastructure work, the construction materials sector is considered an essential pillar of national industries.

In recent years, the different national sectorial strategies (of tourism, habitat, industry…) have strongly sought the participation of this sector. It has known unprecedented development, and has been supported and strengthened by the industrial acceleration program.

There are over 1000 structured corporates in the sector producing 3.8 Billion Dollars (~ 37 Billion Dirhams) and generating an added value of 1.5 Billion Dollars (~ 14 Billion Dirhams).

The dynamics of the sector is driven by the corporates who take part in the national effort to implement a new program-based contract in collaboration with the State. This contract aims to develop the ecosystems of the construction materials sector through a total investment of around 260 Million Dollars (~ 2.5 Billion Dirhams).

The sector’s potential presents great growth perspectives for the country with the ambition to generate 1 Billion Dollars (~ 10,1 Billion Dirhams) in additional turnover, and make a positive impact of over 495 million Dollars(~ 4,8 Billion Dirhams) on the trade balance; including  360 Million Dollars (~ 3,5 Billion Dirhams) out of exports and 134 Million Dollars (~ 1,3 Billion Dirhams) out of imports substitution.
