"After the unprecedented recession of 2020, the outlook of the world economy counts on a recovery of up to 6.6% in 2021 and 4% in 2022", reveals the 13th meeting of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee on Systemic Risks. This Committee is composed of representatives from Bank Al-Maghrib (the Moroccan Central Bank), the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, the Insurance and Social Security Supervisory Authority, and the Treasury and External Finance Directorate.

Nexans strengthens its industrial presence in Morocco. On January 19, 2021, the Group inaugurated a new plant for Business Unit Telecom Systems at Midparc free zone in Nouaceur. This industrial unit will produce fiber optic cable connector accessories for FTTH (Fiber to the Home), 5G, data center and LAN (Local Area Network) applications. The plant is built on a 6,000 m² site including a 3,000 m² production unit, and will employ between 250 and 300 people by 2022. This new plant will enable Nexans’ group to increase its production capacity, while expanding its products range and offering new services to better satisfy its customers. Nexans' new industrial unit will serve both the European and the North African markets.
