The pharmaceutical industry is the second largest chemical industry in Morocco and Africa and is considered to be a very strong potential for export growth.

With its 70 years of experience, the industry contributes by 5.2 % to the industrial GDP and exports around 1.27 billion Dirhams (~ 129.6 Million US Dollars) covering the entire medical and pharmaceutical production value chain.

As a producer of consumables and medical and pharmaceutical devices, Morocco will be able to achieve 7.6 billion dirhams (~ 790 million US dollars) additional trade surplus.
This performance places the country as key destination for international clinical trials and an outsourcing platform for the production of devices and equipment intended for export thanks to the advantages offered by the sector:
The industrial environment of the pharmaceutical sector is all set to trigger research and development (R&D) dynamics and boost pharmaceutical and medical production.
