Moroccan leather industry has perfectly embodied the ancestral know-how of Morocco. As such, it benefits from special attention in order to expand its value chain by the establishment of a new industrial focus group for all accessories necessary for the transformation of leather products.

There are about 336  industrial units operating in the sector and the exports are estimated at billion dirhams (~ 408  million US dollars).
Morocco is ranked as the world's 30th largest exporter of shoes and 45th largest exporter of leather goods.
