THE MOROCCAN ECONOMY COULD REBOUND BY UP TO 5.3% THIS YEAR ACCORDING TO BANK AL-MAGHRIB

"After the unprecedented recession of 2020, the outlook of the world economy counts on a recovery of up to 6.6% in 2021 and 4% in 2022", reveals the 13th meeting of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee on Systemic Risks. This Committee is composed of representatives from Bank Al-Maghrib (the Moroccan Central Bank), the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, the Insurance and Social Security Supervisory Authority, and the Treasury and External Finance Directorate.

The kick-off of the 18th edition of the International Exhibition of Call and Contact Centres in Morocco (SICCAM) was given Thursday in Agadir in the presence of 150 companies.

The sector made a decisive jump ahead towards its evolution on Monday, July 5, 2021 as several conventions were signed in front of HM King Mohammed VI at the Royal Palace in Fez. The project aims at manufacturing vaccines against Covid-19 and others with an investment of 500 million dollars, and involves several public and private Moroccan, Chinese and Swedish organisations. In the short term, the target is to reach a production capacity of 5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine per month, before gradually increase this capacity in the medium term.

Thanks to the National Agency for the Promotion of SME (Maroc PME), 229 projects have been entitled to investment support in 2020 under the Istitmar program with a total investment of MAD 2.8 billion. This investment generated more than 25,000 jobs, including nearly 16,000 direct jobs.
